Seventh national census- China has a total population of 1411.178 million

China has finish its seventh national population census ,the main purpose is to find out comprehensively the number, structure and distribution of China’s population.

(1)Total population. The total population of China was 1,411.178 million. The average annual growth rate was 0.53%, 0.04 % points lower than the average annual growth rate of 0.57% from 2000 to 2010.Data show that China’s population has maintained a low growth trend in the past 10 years.
(2)the population of each household. There were 494.16 million household households, with a population of 1.29281 million. There were 28.53 million group households, with a population of 118.97 million. The household size continues to shrink.
(3)Regional distribution of population. The eastern region accounts for 39.93%, the central region 25.83%, the western region 27.12% and the northeast region 6.98 %. The population is further concentrated in economically developed regions and urban agglomerations.
(4)Gender composition. The male population was 723.34 million, accounting for 51.24%;The female population was 688.44 million, accounting for 48.76% . The sex ratio at birth was 111.3, down 6.8 percent from 2010.The gender structure of China’s population continues to improve.
(5)Age composition. The population aged 0-14 was 253.38 million;The population aged between 15 and 59 was 894.38 million;The population aged 60 or above was 264.02 million. The proportion of children in China’s population has rebounded, and positive results have been achieved in the adjustment of the family planning policy. At the same time, the aging of the population has further deepened, and will continue to face the pressure of long-term balanced development of the population in the future.
(6)population with educational level. The population with university education was 218.36 million. The continuous improvement of the educational situation reflects the positive results achieved in the past 10 years by vigorously developing higher education and eliminating illiteracy among young and middle-aged people, and the continuous improvement of the quality of the population.
(7)Population in urban and rural areas. The population living in urban areas was 901.99 million;The population living in rural areas was 509.79 million. With the deepening of China’s new industrialization, IT application and agricultural modernization, and the implementation of the policy of granting urban residency to the rural migrant population, China has made steady progress in the process of new urbanization over the past decade, and made historic achievements in urbanization.
(8)floating population. The population separated from household was 492.76 million, among which, the population separated from household was 116.94 million in municipal districts, and the floating population was 375.82 million, while, the inter-provincial floating population was 124.84 million. The sustainable development of China’s economy and society has created conditions for the migration and flow of population. The trend of population migration has become more obvious and the scale of floating population has further expanded.
(9)the population of ethnic groups. The population of Han nationality was 1286.31 million.The population of ethnic minorities was 125.47 million. The steady growth of the population of all ethnic groups in China fully demonstrates the all-round development and progress of all ethnic groups in China under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
